Spring is a magical time. The sun finally begins to warm us up and all the birds and flowers seem to wake up from their winter slumber. Chilly nights continue until summer but daytime still gives way to luxurious strolls and cocktail get-togethers. If you are looking for some lovely gin cocktails for Spring, keep reading.

First, let’s talk Spring ingredients:

Herbs

Mint is a quintessential Spring favourite as it is both bright and sprightly, not to mention aromatic. Fresh mint leaves pair beautifully with other warm-weather treats like watermelon as well as grapefruits and lime. The botanicals in our Barentsz Exotic Jasmine Gin feel right at home with various mint leaf cocktails. For a Spring Fling consider making one or more of these spring gin cocktails:

Mint Gin Froth – This simple yet elegant cocktail features a few sprigs of mint, our premium Gin, soda water, and a tablespoon of agave.

Juleps – probably one of the first cocktails that come to mind when you think of mint, this sweet and tangy cocktail is perfect for a sunny afternoon tea party. The chopped mint, sugar, lime juice, as well as a tonic or ginger beer will have your guests begging for more.

To create simply muddle the mint, sugar, and lime. After filling your glassware halfway with crushed ice distribute Barentsz Exotic Jasmine Gin as well as the muddled mint mixture. If you are using ginger beer top off here. A fresh sprig of mint is the perfect garnish. Enjoy all of these Spring cocktails with Gin throughout the season into summer.

Rosemary isn’t only for winter meals. This intensely fragrant and flavourful herb does magical things in a spring gin cocktail.

Rosemary & Gin

To create a beautiful gin cocktail with rosemary, start by creating your own rosemary syrup. Take ground rosemary, water, and sugar and boil to create this simple syrup. Next strain carefully. Take a tall glass and fill with ice. Add Barentsz Gin, lemon, and the simple syrup and stir. A splash of club soda to top it off adds the right amount of refreshing fizz. Of course, garnish with rosemary and enjoy.

Since Gin pairs so nicely with Rosemary,  here is another cocktail to try. A cucumber rosemary gimlet features fresh cucumber and lime juice, simple syrup, and two sprigs of rosemary. This refreshing and aromatic cocktail offers a delicious sip of Spring.

Fresh Fruits

Spring is certainly a time of fresh bounty. Tangy citrus, Passionfruit, Watermelon, and Cucumber (yes, it’s a fruit) are bursting at every Spring market and shoppe. Here are a few fruity cocktails we are sure will make your next soiree a fabulous party.

Springtime G&T

Using fresh pineapple and passionfruit incorporate Gin and Elderflower Liqueur. Shake with a premium tonic, we recommend Fever Tonic and pineapple chunks and lime for a garnish. This beautiful cocktail gets its bright yellow colour from the passionfruit. Serve with ice in beautiful Copa glassware

Grapefruit & Lavender

A pretty pink cocktail that could sit happily at any wedding or cocktail party. This cocktail features 2 dashes of lavender bitters, fresh grapefruit juice, simple syrup, and of course, our premium Gin. This drink takes only five minutes to make, which is a good thing as it’s impossible to enjoy just one.

Gimlets

Easy to whip up and change ingredients, a great gimlet is hard to pass up. As mentioned the cucumber for all its green peel is a fruit and its delicate fresh flavour helps to create a refreshing and light cocktail.

Place slices of cucumber inside an old-fashioned glass. Next, you will want to muddle cucumber and mint. Simple syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice play off each other perfectly. Next, shake very well and pour. Garnish with a fresh sprig of mint or slice of lime and serve.

Watermelon

This deliciously sweet fruit can work quite well with Gin. Create a refreshing punch with pieces of round seedless watermelons. Fresh lemon juice adds a bright citrus note and sprigs of fresh mint are the perfect herbal note. Add Barentsz Jasmine Gin and mix with simple syrup. Serve in a rocks glass over ice. Mint sprigs make a pretty garnish.

May Flowers

No spring cocktails list would be complete without floral spirits. Our new flavoured Mandarin & Jasmine Barentsz Gin can be used with orange blossom and coconut water for a sunny and refreshing cocktail. Perfect for a garden party, decorate your drinks with edible flowers for a delicate garnish with some real wow factor.

Elderflower Collins

The Collins is such a classic cocktail made extra special with this flavourful floral addition. Elderflower is known for its medicinal properties. It is often described as tasting similar to a lychee. To create this delicious Spring cocktail, simply stir Barents Exotic Jasmine Gin with a high-quality soda and elderflower.

The Bees Knees

No Spring cocktail list would be complete without the Bees Knees. This cocktail gained popularity in the roaring ’20s. It’s fun all-year-round but for fun, Spring touch adds lavender. To create a perfect Bees Knees cocktail follow a traditional sour recipe.

The honey syrup is created easily with water and honey and 2 tablespoons of dried lavender flowers. The cocktail is composed of Willem Barentsz Exotic Jasmine Gin, the homemade honey syrup, and freshly squeezed lemon or other citrus juice if you prefer. You can also use our new flavoured Mandarin & Jasmine Gin to create a mandarin-flavoured bee’s knees that is sure to “wow”.
