The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award ‘Diamonds are Forever’ Gala

Willem Barentsz were delighted to support the ‘Diamonds are Forever’ Gala, celebrating the 60th anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award on 9th June 2016 at Stoke Park.

This spectacular evening was attended by The Duke of Edinburgh along with his youngest son, The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, and The Countess of Wessex, Chair of Women in Business.

Held in the beautiful Stoke Park, the location was chosen for having featured in the films Tomorrow Never Dies and Goldfinger. Guests included the James Bond cast and crew from past and present including Sir Roger Moore, Dame Judi Dench and Naomie Harris.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh instigated the Award 60 years ago from a belief in the power of ‘doing’ to shape lives. Over the next five years, the DofE will directly impact 2 million 14 -25 year olds, ‘hard-coding’ a sense of self-purpose, self-confidence, responsibility and resilience: young people from all backgrounds who are work-ready, well-rounded and ambitious – with the skills that businesses and society needs.

DofE see their role in helping to shape ‘diamonds in the rough’, providing young people with the opportunities to discover the many facets of their talents and to be truly brilliant. The Diamond Fund was created for the Diamond Anniversary to support their next five years of growth.

All funds raised will support the DofE Charity’s Diamond Ambition to inspire and empower young people from diverse communities across the UK.

Happy Diamond Anniversary to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award!
